Installation Instructions

(1996-2000 GM C/K 1500/2500 5.0/5.7l V-8 VORTEC Part #57015)

Important! Read all instructions before you begin installation.

1.       Loosen clamp and remove air inlet pipe from air duct.

2.       Remove the throttle cable bracket from the throttle body (1 bolt) and from the intake manifold (1 nut/bolt).

3.       Remove the 3 bolts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold. In some removals the rear bolt will remain attached to the air cleaner extension. Separate and discard bolt. Save the air cleaner extension for assembly in a later step.

4.       Lift the throttle body and install the HELIX POWER TOWER with the O-ring side up.

5.       Install the stud (provided with kit) in the rear bolthole in the intake manifold.

6.       Reinstall the throttle body and secure with the bolts included in the kit for the front 2 holes and the nut and washer on the rear stud. Torque to 6.25 ft/lbs. IMPORTANT!! DO NOT OVER TORQUE.

7.       Reinstall the air duct extension (saved from step 4) on the rear stud.

8.       Route the throttle and cruise controls cables over the air conditioner line and reinstall them.

9.       Reinstall the cable bracket to the throttle body with the original bolt into the intake manifold with the 50mm spacer and bolt/washer provided.

10.   Reattach the air duct assembly to the throttle body and secure with the original wing nut.

Note: you may notice an occasional high-pitched whistle while driving. This is normal.
