Helix Power Tower
Installation Instructions
(2000-2001 Dodge Dakota/Durango 4.7L Part #47005)
Important!
Read all instructions before you begin installation.
1.
Loosen
and remove the air duct assembly from the air cleaner to engine. Remove the
two 10mm bolts that retain the air housing to intake. Unclamp the housing and
remove the housing from engine.
2.
Remove
the two bolts and one nut that retain the throttle linkage to the intake.
Swing the oil dipstick to the side to remove the bracket.
3.
Remove
the three 8mm bolts from the throttle body and lay the throttle body to the
side.
4.
Install
the Helix Power Tower in between the intake and throttle body. Use the longer
bolts provided to secure the throttle body to the intake.
5.
Install
the two throttle bracket extensions (#1) to the two upper intake bosses and
reattach the throttle cable bracket to the new extensions. Reattach the oil
dipstick and third extension bracket (#2) to the lower location with the
original nut.
6.
Attach
the housing extensions to the air housing and reassemble the housing to the
intake manifold. Reinstall the transfer hose to the housing and to the air
cleaner assembly. Make sure all the clamps and bolts are properly attached
and torqued.
Note: you may
notice an occasional high-pitched whistle while driving. This is normal.

Explanation
When lining
the throttle bracket extensions make sure two aluminum brackets and the two
1/4” spacers are at the 1 and 2 positions.
The #3
position is a bent metal bracket with a nut clip. After installation the
oil dipstick will need to be moved away from the cruise control cable approx.
1/4”.
When assembling
the air cleaner housing extensions (positions 4- passenger side and 5-
drivers side) face them forward loosely and assembly the housing to them. Once
the housing and extensions are assembled tighten them down to 10lb/ft.
