Helix Power Tower

Installation Instructions

(1990-2001 Ford Ranger/Explorer 4.0L V-6 Part #40015)

Important! Read all instructions before you begin installation.

1.      Remove two (8mm) bolts from the throttle-body guard and remove the guard.

2.      Unbolt two throttle cable bracket (8mm) bolts holding bracket to intake manifold.

3.      Unclamp (8mm) and remove air inlet pipe from throttle-body.

4.      Remove four (8mm) bolts from the throttle-body. Remove throttle-body gasket.

5.      Install two gaskets and Helix Power Tower onto the intake manifold. Install throttle-body onto intake manifold with the new longer hardware. Torque bolts to 12 ft/lb.

6.      Reinstall the air inlet pipe and tighten the clamp securely.

7.      Install two one-inch spacers behind throttle linkage bracket while installing the longer hardware as supplied with kit.

8.      Reinstall throttle-body guard using the original bolts.

9.      With engine off, recheck the full travel of throttle. Check for a binding or sticking throttle.

Note: you may notice an occasional high-pitched whistle while driving. This is normal.
